4 – The passengers referred to in the previous number will be sent, upon arrival in mainland Portugal, to a proper location inside the airport for the purpose of carrying out the nucleic acid amplification test (TAAN) or rapid antigen test (TRAg), for screening for SARS-CoV-2 infection and subsequent genomic sequencing, as well as for determination of prophylactic isolation by health authorities. 5 – The provisions of the preceding paragraphs are also applicable, with the necessary adaptations, to citizens who enter national territory by sea or land. 6 – Passengers on flights from Mozambique are subject to prophylactic isolation pursuant to paragraph 3 until the date of effect of the present order referred to in the following paragraph. 7 – This order takes effect from 00:00 on November 27, 2021, with the exception of the suspension of flights provided for in paragraph 1, which takes effect from 00:00 on November 29, 2021.

Given the rapid increase in the incidence of this variant in South Africa, it is recommended that commercial or private flights to and from southern African countries be suspended, namely South Africa, Botswana, Essuatini, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia and Zimbabwe, as well as the imposition of testing and compliance with prophylactic isolation to all citizens who come from these countries.
