Samsung smart TV, a Chromecast Ultra, and an iPad Pro I use for work
Hey folks, I’ve been playing around with screen mirroring options lately and hit a bit of a wall. I’m mostly on iOS, but my setup includes an older Samsung smart TV, a Chromecast Ultra, and an iPad Pro I use for work. I’m looking for something flexible that doesn’t box me into one device. Has anyone compared DoCast with the basic Chromecast mirroring tools in terms of device compatibility? I'd love to hear some real experiences.

Yeah, I totally get what you're saying. I’ve been through the same chaos a couple of months ago. What really stood out for me with DoCast was how not stuck I felt. Chromecast-only mirroring apps are, frankly, too narrow. I tried a few apps that were great only if you wanted to mirror to a Chromecast, but as soon as I switched to my LG TV or even tried connecting to my brother’s Roku during a trip—boom, nothing worked. With DoCast, I’ve been using my iPhone to stream both audio and video not just to my Chromecast but also to an old Sony smart TV using DLNA. And I didn’t even have to adjust a dozen settings.
I found a decent comparison that helped me make the decision: DoCast vs. Screen Mirroring — It actually breaks down compatibility pretty clearly. What sealed the deal for me was that DoCast can talk to more than one type of device, which makes it way more future-proof, especially if you’re like me and your tech collection grows and shifts over time.
